Best Online Dating Sites and Apps in Indonesia – 2024 Edition

It might seem old school, but it still works really well. Online dating websites and apps are prefect for finding a dream girl (or man) in Indonesia, and today I am here to share with you my favorites for 2024.

If you don’t want to go through the entire article and read all the details (although you should), know that the best dating website in Indonesia is Indonesian Cupid.

There are other good choices – and I’m detailing them below, but trust me when I say that in Indonesia, you don’t want to overcomplicate things.

The ladies here are not only beautiful, but also extremely friendly and still attracted to foreigners more than locals… so just pick the best site out there and you’ll be shocked with the amazing results you’ll get.

Now, let’s see the rankings and the options that you have!

Best dating websites & apps in Indonesia

Here are the best online dating sites in Indonesia in 2024, and the details why I love each of them so much – the same reasons why you’ll love them too!

1. Indonesian Cupid

The best online dating site in Indonesia is Indonesian Cupid. It’s absolutely amazing, chock full of nice women and a perfect place for foreigners.

While one could say that this website is the bread and butter of many an older gentleman in the country, it is actually a hidden gem that younger fellas can try out too.

On my first trip to the Indonesia, I started testing out this platform, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of the girls using it.

And even more so by the lack of competition, meaning that most of my messages ended up with an answer and I quickly had a ton of contacts.

You get so many replies here that you think it’s bots or scammers – but it’s not. I only met real Indonesian women here – confirmed first by getting their Insta, video chatting and eventually meeting them in person. Incredible!

The user interface of Indonesian Cupid is easy to use, and the girls tend to respond fairly quickly to messages (do consider the time zone though, especially if you’re messaging them from the US).

I even had many chicks messaging me first, which seemed odd at first but proved to be OK (no gold diggers or scammer).

The thing is that the admins of the website constantly monitor profiles and delete the spammy/scammy ones.

Sure, some might still pass through and you should always do your own due diligence, but generally, the girls here are legit.

What’s best? The fact that they are generally extremely excited about meeting the “Bule” (“Foreigner” in Indonesian) of their dreams. So you’re going to score more often than not, that’s a fact!

I would actually recommend you (as I keep saying on this site) to create your profile some two weeks before arriving in Indonesia, to have enough time to establish connections and have the girls waiting for you at the airport when you arrive. Nothing beats that!

Pros of Indonesian Cupid

  • Tons of high-quality girls
  • High interest in foreign men
  • Easy to use interface with simple messaging features
  • Low competition
  • All girls are actively looking for a relationship

Cons of Indonesian Cupid

  • You have to pay a monthly fee
  • There are still some gold diggers or fake profiles, so be vigilant

Asian Dating

Asian dating home page

AsianDating.com is another online dating site in Indonesia that can work really well. It’s similar to Indonesian Cupid, but not laser focused on a single country.

While it still has plenty of profiles from Indonesia alone, I recommend using it if you plan to explore SEA, for example and not stick to Indonesia only. This way, you only need to sign up for one website and enjoy all the benefits.

Even though this is not directly aimed at Indonesian women, you will still find plenty of those here, as well as girls from neighboring countries.

But apart from that, it basically has the same benefits (and Cons) that my first choice, as it created and maintained by the same company.

The only reason why I would pick this one instead of Indonesian Cupid above, would be the one already mentioned: if I’d be traveling to more countries around the area.

Pros of AsianDating.com

  • Lots of active girls in Indonesia
  • Useful for men who travel around Asia a lot
  • Less competition
  • Real profiles, ladies actively looking for a date.

Cons of AsianDating.com

  • Costs money

Tinder

beautiful Indonesian woman

Oh, Tinder… where do I begin? Tinder is an amazing online dating app in a number of countries around the world, Indonesia included.

Although not as popular here as in the West, it can still give you plenty of solid results. In Indonesia, especially in Jakarta and Bali, you’ll have some girls using the app day and night.

But it’s not as popular in other cities like Batam or the smaller ones in the country. And it has so many potential ways it could go wrong that I can only recommend it if you are 100% sure you know what you’re doing and are extremely cautious.

Here, you will have a lot more competition than on a paid service, while the number of scammers, gold diggers and spammy profiles will be a lot higher too, so you’ll end up wasting more time here. A LOT more.

In the end, it’s a matter of what you want to do: go straight to the point (but pay a premium) or trade time for a free app that requires a bit more care on your side. Either way, you will easily score a lot!

Pros of Tinder in Indonesia

  • Lots of girls
  • High quality, educated Indonesian women
  • Looking to meet foreign men

Cons of Tinder in Indonesia

  • Less active at replying to messages
  • Can get time-consuming
  • Can chat only with your matches
  • Higher competition
  • More scammers, working ladies and so on

Instagram

While Instagram isn’t an online dating site, you can still use it to meet girls in the country, especially if you have a lot of time on your hand.

Many stunning Indonesian women use Instagram religiously, but may not be on other online dating platforms. You might want to meet them. I know I did.

So I started sending DMs to girls on Instagram from Indonesia, and I got some great results.

Now, Instagram isn’t a dating site, so there is a little different game required than what you use on Tinder or Indonesian Cupid.

You’ll want an active account of your life and travels, along with a decent amount of followers. Once you have that, you’ll be good to go. Be prepared for many rejections too, since most of the girls on Insta are not looking for a relationship.

Just make sure to take things slower and now come on too strong… although obviously, you can end up wasting time if she’s actually in a relationship or just not interested. But it’s free and might give you access to girls that are not on other platforms.

My honest advice though? Don’t do it. Why waste time here when you can literally have a date lined up in 5 minutes on Indonesian Cupid?

Pros

  • Most beautiful girls in Indonesia
  • Tons of photos so you won’t have any questions about her looks
  • Not many guys doing it

Cons

  • It’s not a dating site
  • Indonesia girls may be thrown off by your DM
  • Girls not necessarily interested in foreign guys or starting relationships

Online Dating in Indonesia: Closing Thoughts

Using online dating websites and apps while traveling is a great idea for men, especially in Asian countries like Indonesia. And now you know which are the best, from Indonesian Cupid to Tinder and everything in between.

You don’t want to be swiping and messaging all day with no results. Stick to the best online dating site I recommended above, and you’ll be sure to meet up with a number of cute chicks without too much hassle.

IMPORTANT: Recently, a law was passed in the country, making it illegal for men and women who are not married to share a room / house / apartment.

It is unclear right now how will this apply to foreigners (if it will at all), but ask around a bit.

Right now, the official word is that the law will be applied starting 2025, so there’s still time – so make sure to take advantage while the “easy way” still works.
